Green bean casserole

Serves 10 to 12
"This is a very good party dish," writes Greta Dalton, who submitted this recipe to the 1977 Horsepasture's Choice Collection cookbook in Horsepasture, Va.
3 cans French green beans (drained)
2 heaping tablespoons flour
1 stick butter or margarine
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons sugar
4 teaspoons grated onion
1 pint sour cream
One 8-ounce package Swiss cheese (grated)
2 cups crushed corn flakes
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put drained beans in casserole. In saucepan put 2 tablespoons butter with flour, salt, sugar, onion and cook 5 minutes or until mixture becomes paste. Remove from heat, add sour cream and grated cheese. Mix well and pour over beans.
Top with 2 cups crushed corn flakes mixed with remaining butter, melted, and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
Per serving based on 10 servings: 319 cal.; 10 g pro.; 14 g carb.; 23 g fat (16 sat., 3 monounsat., 1 polyunsat., 3 other); 77 mg chol.; 760 mg sod.; 1 g fiber; 5 g sugar; 69 percent calories from fat.
