Sacramento International Airport officials are reporting smooth sailing so far as holiday travel ramps up.
Still, they are recommending that holiday travelers get to the airport two hours before they are scheduled to take off this weekend.
"I don't know it will take them that long," said spokeswoman Laurie Slothower. "But there's so much stress already with the holidays … save yourself the heartburn and take it easy and get here early."
Airport officials have noticed the peak of traveling appears to be happening in the mornings, so giving yourself extra time is particularly important if your flight is scheduled between 6 and 7 a.m., Slothower said.
Generally, lines have been moving quickly. Friday, passengers went through TSA security lines in both terminals in 10 minutes or less. At most, the process took 15 minutes, Slothower said.
"Everything's going really well," she said. "We're prepared for it."
