Christmas Day was not peaceful in all parts of Sacramento as police responded to violent calls at several locations.
Police handled two calls of suspected domestic violence:
-- In Natomas a man was arrested on suspicion of hurting a spouse or cohabitant and resisting police. Officers said the 22-year-old man jumped from a second-story balcony to escape and a police dog was used to take him into custody.
-- In the South Area, a 44-year-old woman was booked on suspicion of domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon. A police activity log said she punched her male partner in the jaw while she held a pair a tweezers, causing a gash.
Elsewhere, police responded to a stabbing and a bottle broken over a head.
-- In Meadowview, a 16-year-old boy is suspected of stabbing a 37-year-old man in the torso. The two argued outside and the teen began to stab the man, police said. Witnesses separated the two, and the boy rode off on a bicycle.
-- Near William Land Park along Freeport Boulevard -- A man argued with two other men he did not know inside a store. Eventually, the argument turned physical and one of the strangers hit the man over the head with a bottle of wine, causing a cut.
Both men then fled.
