An alert Citrus Heights police officer arrested a man after first running a check on a model of car that is often stolen.
The officer was on patrol near Antelope Road and Lauppe Lane this morning when he noticed a 2000 Honda Civic, one of the top cars stolen by thieves. The Honda was stolen Christmas Day from its owner in Dixon.
When Citrus Heights officers tried to stop the Honda, the driver attempted to flee, according to a department press release. After a short pursuit, the driver stopped near Auburn Boulevard and Sylvan Road.
There, the driver, Chadwick Heath Greylock, 32, a wanted parolee at large, was taken into custody. Police said they found car theft tools inside the Honda.
