Jan. 3: Iowa Caucus.
Jan. 10: New Hampshire Primary.
Jan. 21: South Carolina Primary.
Jan. 26: California ballot measure qualification deadline for June election.
Jan. 31: Florida Primary.
Feb. 4: Nevada Caucus.
Feb. 4-11: Maine Caucus.
Feb. 7: Missouri Primary (does not count toward GOP delegates). Caucuses in Colorado and Minnesota.
Feb. 10-12: California Democratic Convention, San Diego.
Feb. 13-March 9: Period for filing the Declaration of Candidacy and nomination papers for California U.S. Senate, Congressional and Assembly candidates.
Feb. 24-26: California Republican Convention, San Francisco Airport.
Feb. 28: Primaries in Arizona and Michigan.
March 3: Washington Caucus.
March 5: Republican Presidential Primary Debate, Ronald Reagan Library, Simi Valley.
March 6: Super Tuesday. Primaries in Georgia, Massachusetts, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Vermont and Virginia. Caucuses in Alaska, Idaho and North Dakota.
March 6-10: Wyoming Caucus.
March 13: Primaries in Alabama and Mississippi. Hawaii Caucus.
March 17: Missouri Caucus (does count toward GOP delegates).
March 20: Illinois Primary.
March 24: Louisiana Primary.
April 3: Primaries in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Wisconsin and Texas.
April 24: Primaries in Connecticut, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.
April 26: California counties begin mailing out sample ballots to voters.
May 8: Primaries in Indiana, North Carolina and West Virginia.
May 15: Primaries in Nebraska and Oregon.
May 21: Last day before the Presidential Primary Election for any voter to notify the county elections official of a change of address within the county.
May 22: Primaries in Arkansas and Kentucky.
May 29: Last day for new residents in California to register to vote prior to June Election Day.
May 29: Last day for the county elections official to receive any California voter’s application for a vote-by-mail ballot and to issue such ballot for the June Primary.
June 5: California Presidential, Congressional and State Primary. Primaries in Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico and South Dakota.
June 26: Utah Primary.
June 28: California ballot measure qualification deadline for November election.
Aug. 27-30: Republican National Convention, Tampa, Fla.
Sept. 3-6: Democratic National Convention, Charlotte, N.C.
Oct. 3: Presidential Debate, University of Denver.
Oct. 11: Vice Presidential Debate, Centre College in Danville, Ky.
Oct. 16: Presidential Debate, Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y.
Oct. 22: Presidential Debate, Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla.
Oct. 30: Last day for a new residents in California to register to vote prior to November Election Day.
Oct. 30: Last day for the county elections official to receive any California voter's application for a vote-by-mail ballot and to issue such ballot for the November General Election.
Nov. 6: General Election.
