Active 20-30 Club of Greater Sacramento 1032. New-member orientation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 31 at Evan's Kitchen, 855 57th St. The club consists of young women between the ages of 20 and 39 in the greater Sacramento area who volunteer time to help the special needs of children through fundraising and hands-on events. On the futures list is the 19th annual crab feed themed "Dive Into Paradise" on Feb. 25 at Divine Savior Catholic Church, 9029 Greenback Lane. Doors for the crab feed will open at 5 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 in advance, $60 at the door. Oakmont High School. Crab feed and live/silent auction will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Jan. 28 at the Maidu Community Center, 1550 Maidu Drive in Roseville. On the schedule will be no-host bar, crab and pasta feed, DJ music, auctions and raffle. Funds support Oakmont academics, sports and more. Tickets are $40; advance reservations required. Project R.I.D.E. The crab and shrimp feed will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Jan. 21 at the Project R.I.D.E. Barn, 8840 Southside Ave., Elk Grove. Add shrimp to the traditional crab- feed menu, along with a penne pasta sauce, courtesy of Charlie Mehrten of Red Oak BBQ. Project R.I.D.E. is marking 32 years of recreational therapeutic horseback riding instruction to people with special needs.
South Sacramento Rotary. The organization holds its 30th crab feed this year on Feb. 10. The Scottish Rite Center will be the setting for the event beginning with cocktails at 6 p.m. Proceeds from the silent auction will benefit area charities, including Sacramento City College scholarships, YMCA, DART and more.
