Sunshine and a breeze power Sacramento weather today

Once low clouds move out the area today, sunshine and breezy conditions are expected to reign in Sacramento today.

National Weather Service forecasters said along with the sunny skies will come mild temperatures. The expected high today in Sacramento: 64 degrees.

Cooler overnight temperatures are forecast for tonight and Saturday night in the Central Valley and mountain valleys. Temperatures are expected to dip into the mid-30s both nights in Sacramento.

No rain in sight.

The detailed, 7-day forecast for the Sacramento region:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 64. North northwest wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Tonight: Patchy fog after 4am. Patchy frost after 4am. Otherwise, clear, with a low around 33. North northwest wind between 3 and 8 mph.

Saturday: Patchy fog before 10am. Patchy frost before 10am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 63. Light north northwest wind.

Saturday night: Patchy fog after 4am. Patchy frost after 4am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 35. Light north northwest wind.

Sunday: Patchy fog before 10am. Patchy frost before 10am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 64. Light north wind.

Sunday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 42.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 62.

Monday night: Patchy fog after 10pm. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 38.

Tuesday: Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 61.

Tuesday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 63.

Wednesday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 62.
