Helping Others: "Beer, Brats and Beethoven"

• Sacramento Philharmonic. "Beer, Brats and Beethoven" will be the theme of a festival-type party at 7 p.m. Feb. 10 at Gallery 2110 Sacramento Arts Complex, 2110 K St. In addition to beer and brats, the party will feature a live polka band. The fest is a salute to the Sacramento Loves Beethoven concert slated by the Philharmonic for Feb. 18. The party is $25 per person; order tickets via www.sacphil.org.

• Davis Musical Theatre Company. The third annual benefit poker tournament will be Feb. 11 in the DMTC lobby, 607 Peña Drive, Davis. Registration begins at 6:30 p.m.; the first hand will be dealt at 7 p.m. Fee for the tournament is $40 to buy-in. During the evening, a $20 re-buy is available for those whose luck has frowned and a $20 add-on for high rollers. All donations benefit the company's main stage and young people's productions. Additional features include a Bad Beat Jackpot prize, and the final round will take place on the stage, bathed in dramatic lighting. Entertainment will include excerpts from the company's productions of "Chicago" and "Damn Yankees." Potential players should register at www.dmtx.org or by calling (530) 756-3682

• Junior League of Sacramento. The Denim and Diamonds crab feed, which raises funds to support programs serving women and children, is Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Giovanni Hall at 1333 58th St. Doors open at 5 p.m. for no-host bar; dinner is at 6 p.m. Tickets are $48 in advance; $52 at the door if available. • St. Francis High School. The Booster Club crab feed is Saturday in the St. Francis gymnasium. Cocktails start at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are $50; contact czilaff@stfrancishs.org for availability. The auction list includes an abalone dinner for 10; use of a Chinquapin vacation home north of Tahoe City; and use of a prized parking place at St. Francis.

• Fair Oaks Rotary Club. The club sponsors its 22nd crab feed Feb. 11 at the Divine Savior Church, 9079 Greenback Lane, Orangevale. Party hours are 5:30 to 10 p.m.; tickets are $40. Call (916) 541-1248. The highlight will be a mega-draw with prizes ranging from cash to a duck club outing to tickets for the America's Cup on San Francisco Bay.

• Cancellation: Darkness to Light has canceled its Feb. 18 crab feed. For information about the organization, which helps a community in rural Ethiopia, call (916) 753-3008.
