GREELEY, Colo. Dylan Garrity scored 16 points and Joe Eberhard 14 Thursday night as Sacramento State turned away Northern Colorado 73-62.
Sac State (7-14, 2-8 Big Sky Conference) hit 17 of 22 free throws, compared with just 11 of 28 for Northern Colorado (7-14, 4-6). Garrity made all eight of his attempts from the foul line.
Sac State also had a 37-30 rebounding advantage, with Josh McCarver leading the way with nine.
Tevin Svihovec scored 19 points to lead Northern Colorado, and Connor Osborne scored 11.
UC Irvine 68, UCD Davis 61 in Irvine Chris McNealy scored 13 of his 16 points in the second half, and UC Irvine came up with a 20-9 run to finish the game and beat the Aggies.
UC Davis (1-20, 0-9 Big West Conference) had a four-point lead with about six minutes to play before UC Irvine made its charge.
UC Irvine (9-13, 5-4) got 13 points from Daman Starring, 12 points from Michael Wilder and 11 points from Adam Folker, who also had eight rebounds.
Josh Ritchart, who had four three-pointers, led UCD with 14 points.
Women
Northern Colorado 64, Sac State 56 in Sacramento The Hornets led by as many as 18 points in the first half but Northern Colorado rallied to win at the Nest.
Alle Moreno and Kylie Kuhns each scored a team-high 13 points for the Hornets (8-15, 3-7 Big Sky).
D'shara Strange had a game-high 16 rebounds to go with 14 points to lead the Bears (13-9, 5-4).
