Trucking executive Scott Blevins is the 2012 president of the Calfornia Trucking Association, the trade group announced this week.
Blevins, president and chief executive officer of Manteca-based Mountain Valley Express, began his career at Mountain Valley in 1983 as a mechanic. He worked his way up the ranks to head the $40 million trucking firm. He had previously held various leadership roles within the state trucking association.
"Scott has proven himself in business, life and as a valued member of this organization," said 2011 president Al Garcia, in a statement.
Blevins was sworn in as president last week at the organization's annual conference in La Quinta.
