Local College Hoops: Sac State men extend winning streak to three

CHENEY, Wash. – Joe Eberhard scored 21 points as Sacramento State won its third consecutive game, 75-71 over Eastern Washington on Saturday night.

John Dickson had 20 points for the Hornets (8-14, 3-8 Big Sky Conference).

Cliff Colimon scored 25 points for the Eagles (11-13, 5-6).

Sac State led 40-21 at halftime. But Eastern Washington cut it to 69-67 on Colimon's jumper with 16.7 seconds left.

Eberhard, Heath Hoffman and Dylan Garrity then sank two free throws each as the Hornets held on.

UC Riverside 59, UC Davis 54 in Riverside – B.J. Shearry had a career-high 17 points to help the Highlanders hand the Aggies their 18th consecutive loss.

UC Davis (1-21, 0-10 Big West Conference) led by six early in the second half. But an 11-1 run put Riverside ahead 43-38 with 8:05 left.

Josh Ritchart, who had 21 points, made a three-pointer to pull the Aggies within 47-46. But Shearry dunked twice as the Highlanders (11-12, 5-5) went ahead 54-47 with 41 seconds left.
