Homemade ravioli

Yes, there is an old-fashioned way to make this pasta, and you can do it with a little mixing, rolling, cutting and stuffing. Fillings will include ricotta and spinach, butternut squash and more. Instructor Lucia Oliverio will also teach you how make simple sauces to accompany each dish.

Davis Souper Bowl 2012

A dozen restaurants will serve samples of delicious soups. Tickets will get the holders a taste of everything, a beverage and live music, so they always sell out quickly for this annual benefit for Yolo County's Elderly Nutrition Program, which includes Meals on Wheels.

When: 4-6 p.m. Sunday

Where: Veterans Memorial Center, 203 E. 14th St., Davis

Cost: $10 general, $3 for children 12 and younger. Buy tickets at the Davis Food Co-op.

Teens go Thai

Wouldn't you love it if your 'tween or teenager could serve you a delicious Thai dish? Well, now you can give them a chance to live your dreams with a class where they'll learn to make pad thai, pumpkin tom kah (coconut lemongrass) soup and fried bananas over vanilla ice cream.

When: 6 p.m. Tuesday

Where: Teaching Kitchen, 537 G St., Davis (park in Davis Food Co-op)

French macarons

Trust the French to come up with colorful treats that look just like tiny sandwiches. In this hands-on class, instructor Caroline Chamberlin will teach you to make the flavorful treats often featured at high-end bakeries around the world. You'll need an apron and a container to take your goodies home.

When: 1-4 p.m. Sunday
