WHO'S DANCING

Get dressed up to see 'Blanche Neige'

What: The Mondavi Center presents the U.S. premiere of "Blanche Neige" ("Snow White"). It is the first full-length story ballet by French choreographer Angelin Preljocaj and is set to music by Gustav Mahler. Jean Paul Gaultier designed the costumes and Thierry Leproust the set. "Blanche Neige" opened in France in 2008 and year later won the Globes de Cristal award for the best Dance Spectacle of the Year. The annual Mondavi Gala, benefiting the Mondavi Center and the Robert Mondavi Institute of Food and Wine Science, takes place in conjunction with the ballet on March 17.

When: 7 p.m. March 17 and 3 p.m. March 18

Where: Jackson Hall, Mondavi Center, University of California, Davis

Futuristic Art at Appel

What: The Appel Gallery presents "Futurist Art: The Singularity and Space" featuring photo works of Matt Rutherford, Sofya Yampolsky and Dan Kasser. Curator Marie-Clare Treseder explains Singularity as: "The time when our exponentially advancing technologies surpass our own biological intellect."
