Beyoncé, the tiny puppy who fit into a spoon at birth, will not be adopted out anytime soon.

The female dachshund mix puppy, born March 8 to a rescue dog that had been found abandoned, weighed just 1 ounce at birth.

Her story captured national attention.

She was born at the Grace Foundation of Northern California, an El Dorado Hills organization that rehabilitates abused and neglected animals.

At 3 weeks old, Beyoncé was about the size of an iPhone.

The Grace Foundation said that since her story went nationwide, the organization has received more than 500 phone calls and emails inquiring about adopting the tiny pup.

However, the foundation said in a news release that she will not be going up for adoption at this time. She will, instead, stay at the Grace Foundation, as an ambassador for rescue dogs everywhere.

"We feel it would be wrong to adopt her out to be loved by just one family when there is an entire country in love with her and a cause that needs her help and support," read the news release.
