Where to get help for filing your taxes
Attention, taxpayers. If you're just waking up to next week's tax-filing deadline, here's a welcome reminder: You've got two extra days. Due to a federal holiday in Washington, D.C., the traditional filing deadline is pushed back to Tuesday, April 17.

For IRS help, call (800) 829-1040, weekdays, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Pacific time.
Find free tax help: Free tax-filing help for low-income taxpayers and seniors is offered at Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) centers, often in languages such as Russian, Chinese and Vietnamese. For the nearest sites, go to www. irs.gov or call (800) 906-9887. Walk-in help is also at the IRS office, 4330 Watt Ave. in Sacramento.
