A team from the University of California, Davis, will be competing in the U.S. finals of Microsoft's Imagine Cup grant program, a $3 million competitive grant program for students to create a business or nonprofit.
The UC Davis team – "New Game Plus" with team members Alex Poms and Sheena Allana – developed a video game and has been selected to compete in the national finals today through Monday in Redmond, Wash.
Imagine Cup grant packages include $75,000 for each team as well as software, cloud computing services, solution provider support and access to local resources. Microsoft also connects grant recipients with its network of investors, nongovernmental organization partners and business partners.
