What: The California State Capitol Museum will turn back the clock to the years 1899 to 1917. Volunteers wearing attire in the period portraying Govs. Henry Gage, George Pardee, James Gillett and Hiram Johnson and their wives re-enact important events from their administrations.

When: Guided tours run every 15 minutes from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Earth Day at the park
What: The Environmental Council of Sacramento is sponsoring an Earth Day celebration at Southside Park. Vendors from nonprofits, cultural groups and government will offer information, goods and services for living healthier and protecting the environment. Vegan treats
What: "1000 Vegan Cupcakes for Charity" will feature 10 area bakers making 100 cupcakes each to help raise funds for local charities. Earth Day themes will be: "Fresh 'n' Local," "Cupcakes Around the World" and "Save the Rainforest." Planned featured guest will be Colleen Patrick Goudreau, who will sign copies her books, including "The Joy of Vegan Cooking."
