'Water, Water' in park

What: The 23rd annual Kids Day in the Park returns to Rancho Cordova's Hagan Park. "Water, Water Everywhere" is the theme at the Bobble Lagoon, Finding Nemo playscape and more. There will also be a petting barn, train rides, entertainment and food trucks.

Where: 2197 Chase Drive, Rancho Cordova.

It's a family affair

What: The Festival de la Familia multicultural event, will turn 21 this year and fill Cal Expo with dance, music, food, arts and more. Participants will celebrate the beauty and diversity of more than 21 Latin American countries. In honor of the festival's 21st anniversary, the event will feature 21 tastes of 21 countries, 21 bands and dance groups, 21 artists and artisans and 21 community resources.

Where: 1600 Exposition Blvd., Sacramento.

When: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Cost: General admission, $10; seniors, $7, children 12 and younger, free.

Set sail in West Sacramento

What: As part of its Opening Day events, the Lake Washington Sailing Club is offering free sailboat rides today from the club's headquarters at the Port of West Sacramento.

Where: 2895 Industrial Blvd., West Sacramento.

When: 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Cost: Free rides, on a first-come, first-served basis.

SUNDAY

Golden Bear to dock

What: For the first time in more than 15 years, the California Maritime Academy's training ship, Golden Bear, will visit, slipping into the Port of West Sacramento on Sunday for a two-day stay. The 500-foot-long ship will be open to public tours from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday before departing Tuesday on a two-month international training voyage.

Where: Port of West Sacramento, 2895 Industrial Blvd.

When: 2 to 4 p.m.

Cost: Free.
