Two events focusing on gravestones share some of Sacramento's forgotten history. At 10 a.m., learn about some of Sacramento's earliest artists the stonecutters who carved the cemetery's monuments during a free guided tour of the cemetery and its gardens. During a noon ceremony, original grave markers from the former New Helvetia Cemetery will be reunited with their early Sacramento residents, whose remains were moved to their current site more than 50 years ago.
GARDENS OF THE GOLD COUNTRY TOUR

See seven eye-popping and thought-provoking gardens in El Dorado County during this tour, a fundraiser for programs offered by Gold Oak Union School District. This inaugural tour also features music, crafts and children's artwork. Lunch will be provided at Holly's Hill Vineyards.
