COACH OF THE YEAR

Bryan Kilby / Franklin

The first-year coach led the Wildcats from a 1-5 start and through a rugged Delta Valley Conference that included powers Davis and Elk Grove, and into the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoffs as a third-place seed. Franklin ousted then-Bee No. 1 Pleasant Grove and defeated Davis for the D-I North title. With 20 underclassmen on the roster, Franklin overcame injuries to produce its finest playoff run. Kilby assumed the head-coaching job in place of his good friend Mike Cody, who started the program 10 seasons ago and assisted Kilby this season.
