Sacramento weather forecast: Heat and wind heading our way

Published: Friday, Jun. 8, 2012 - 7:07 am

Hot weather and breezy conditions are on the way to Sacramento, according to forecasters.

First on tap will be the winds. National Weather Service forecasters this morning were not sure just how strong wind gusts will be on Saturday in the valley and foothills so they held off issuing wind advisories.

Still, winds are predicted to be from the north on Saturday in Sacramento at least around 20 mph. Gusts could reach 30 mph, according to forecasters.

The other weather change to consider is the warming that is expected to start on Sunday with temperatures in the low 90s. Then, on Monday, the heat really kicks in with temperatures in the high 90s.

The detailed, 7-day forecast for the Sacramento region:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 81. South wind at 9 mph becoming west.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 53. West northwest wind between 6 and 11 mph.
