The real steal: Choose from appetizers ranging from $3.99 to $6.99, and beer and wine ranging from a dollar to $4.50 during happy hour. They have three beers two bottled and one draft, as well as red and white wine by the glass. Choose from Greek-inspired snacks ranging from the Petra Fries with feta cheese to the Triple Dip.
The vibe: Stone carvings of Greek mythological characters hang on the walls and Greek music plays in the background while two flat- screen TVs on either end of the place show sports. The open kitchen and register add to the low-key feel of this restaurant.
Signature drink: They offer three beers during happy hour that range from a dollar for the Olympia draft, to $2.50 for the bottled beers, the Mythos and Fix. However, Mythosis hands down the beer of choice during happy hour at Petra. This light beer goes with everything and is the perfect refreshment on a hot summer afternoon.
Bathroom break: The private restroom tucked away at the back of the restaurant has plenty of space and just a touch of art, keeping it looking classic and cute at the same time.
Alternative libations: The Apelia white wine is one of the most popular choices. This light chardonnay is a great table wine that pairs well with just about everything on the menu.
Something extra: Happy hour works all over the restaurant, however, the most coveted seating is at the front of the restaurant. A uniquely designed wooden bar juts out from the wall and wraps around the front glass window, stopping only to create an entrance at the door, and then mirroring the same look on the other side of the door. Seats that look out onto 16th Street make it an ideal spot to people- (or car-) watch.
