After a week of sizzling temperatures, only a slice of the heat will linger in Sacramento today with a high of 89 degrees during the day and a low of 58 degrees tonight.
The temperatures are about five to 15 degrees cooler than the sun-soaked city was 24 hours ago, forecasters say.
Slight winds ranging from three to five miles per hour could roll through the city, picking up to six to eight miles per hour tonight.
The remainder of the week’s temperatures will linger in the upper 80s and lower 90s range, forecasters predict. Here are the rest of the week’s temperatures, according to the National Weather Service:
Today: Sunny, with a high near 89. West wind 3 to 5 mph.
Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 58. South wind 6 to 8 mph.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 93. South southwest wind around 6 mph.
Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 59. South wind 7 to 9 mph.
Monday: Sunny, with a high near 87. South southwest wind 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.
Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 55.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 83.
Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 56.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 86.
Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 57.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 91.
Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 59.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 95.
