  • "I can't believe I was hit by a car," said an emotional Gemily West, of Carmichael, as she took a break outdoors while holding a stuffed dog her mother gave her. "I cry every day," she said as she reminisced about her four dogs who were killed in the hit and run on July 17, 2012. She and her boyfriend, Harison Long-Randall, 21, were walking the dogs, Bindie, Evie, Winry and Zury, when they were hit. Long-Randall remains hospitalized with a severed leg. Paul William Walden, 31, was charged with driving on a suspended license and driving under the influence. He also faces two felony counts of hit-and-run and four felony counts of cruelty to animals.
