A fire north of Cache Creek Casino Resort in Yolo County has burned 550 acres and is threatening several homes in the community of Guinda, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection reports.
As of 9 p.m. Saturday, the Forest fire, which started about 10 a.m., was 15 percent contained, said Daniel Berlant, Cal Fire spokesman.
The fire burned near what Berlant called the Blue Ridge area, parallel to the west side of Highway 16.
Because of winds changing direction to the north, the fire Saturday night was threatening Guinda, Berlant said.
"The wind has made this pretty hard to contain, it keeps going back and forth," Berlant said.
He said Saturday night there were no plans for road closures or evacuations for Guinda.
