Details: Honored for her commitment to tennis. Downing has been a teaching pro and director of tennis clubs in Sacramento for more than 35 years. Additionally, she is a fine player, reaching the No. 1 ranking in 2009 while competing in the senior 60s division.
Kudos to: Parker White, attorney
Accomplishment: Inducted into International Academy of Trial Lawyers
Details: The IATL United States' membership is limited to 500 attorneys who demonstrate skill in trials. White, partner in Poswall, White & Cutler, has practiced law in Sacramento since 1980. He is a visiting faculty member at Stanford University and the University of San Francisco law schools.

Accomplishment: Presented with the Oxholm Leadership Award
Details: Recognizes leadership in the classroom and the community. Among other accomplishments, he has served on the board of the Sacramento Area Emergency Housing Center and worked as a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, Race for the Cure and the Sacramento Food Bank. At Drexel, he served as the graduate student association's co-chairman for the community involvement committee.
Kudos to: Robert Linkul, Arden Hills Resort Club and Spa, strength and fitness director
Accomplishment: Named personal trainer of the year by National Strength and Conditioning Association
Details: Linkul has been a certified personal trainer since 1999, helping people achieve fitness through education, training and nutrition. He was also instrumental in the opening of the new Arden Hills strength and fitness facility for those interested in high-intensity training.
