Sacramento and all of California saw a month-to-month dip in job vacancies advertised online in July, but numbers are still up from last year, according to the latest monthly report by the Conference Board.
The board said there were 27,100 ads posted in Sacramento in July, down slightly from 27,600 in June but up substantially from 23,600 in July last year.
Statewide, there were 528,100 ads posted in July, down from 537,300 in June but up from 484,200 in July 2011.
Sacramento remains second nationwide in the number of unemployed per advertised job vacancy, with a 4.60-to-1 ratio. That trailed only Riverside's 7.96-to-1. The national rate is 2.58-to-1.
Jobs advertised online nationwide fell 153,600 in July to 4,793,500.
"Over the last three years, labor demand continued to move forward, albeit slowly, making this a very slow-growth recovery and an indication of the lingering economic uncertainty of employers," said June Shelp, vice president of the board.
