Cats glance: River Cats smack Redbirds on 4-run rally

Highlight: Kila Ka'aihue hit a run-scoring single to break a 3-3 tie in a four-run seventh inning to propel the River Cats past the Memphis Redbirds 4-3 Thursday night at Raley Field.

That's no mistake: Because starting shortstop Grant Green was ejected in the seventh inning, the box score will show catcher and third baseman Josh Donaldson played the last two innings at short.

Infielders swapped: The A's recalled River Cats shortstop Adam Rosales and returned shortstop Brandon Hicks to the River Cats.

Straily gets call: The A's promoted River Cats right-hander Dan Straily to the big club. The 23-year-old 24th-round pick in 2009 is expected to make his major league debut tonight.

Today: River Cats TBD vs. Memphis RHP Trevor Rosenthal (0-0, no ERA), 7:05 p.m., Raley Field.
