Tuolumne fire nears containment

SOULSBYVILLE – A fire in Tuolumne County was down to 30 acres and was 65 percent contained, with full containment expected Wednesday evening, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said.

The fire, about eight miles east of Sonora and north of Highway 108, has destroyed two homes, an outbuilding, a pickup, a recreational vehicle and a travel trailer.
