What: Woodland Davis Aeromodelers are hosting the Golden Age Fly-in at a new site northeast of Davis. All model aircraft will depict planes in production before World War II, according to organizers.

Library celebrates Tarzan's 100th

What: The Sacramento Public Library is hosting a conference celebrating the centennial of Edgar Rice Burroughs' classic, "Tarzan of the Apes." Featuring panel discussions, film screenings and more, the conference is being staged with the help of Northern California Mangani – mangani being the name of the fictional species of ape in the Tarzan novels. A display of Tarzan books, comics and memorabilia will be on display in the library through Sept. 30.

Wine fundraiser

What: Pour for Prevention, a wine-tasting fundraiser for the Child Abuse Prevention Center, is scheduled at the Antiquité Maison Privée in midtown Sacramento. An array of California wineries will be pouring their creations. There will also be an art display, live music and a silent auction.

Where: 2114 P St., Sacramento.

When: 5 to 9 p.m.

Cost: $40 advance, $50 at the door, $70 for two tickets.

Roseville derby

What: Watch the Sacred Sacrificers all-star team take on the Houston Roller Derby all-stars at Roseville's Roller King rink. The match leads up to the Women's Flat Track Derby Association West Region playoffs in September.

Artisan fest

What: The sixth annual CurtisFest artisan festival returns to Curtis Park. The community celebration features a variety of artists and vendors. Local bands Instagon and Garage Jazz Architects as well as the Mike Justis Band will perform throughout the day beginning at 11 a.m. Children can enjoy a magic show, have their faces painted and explore a petting zoo from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
