• Offense: Methodical, efficient, multi-faceted. The 49ers want to overwhelm defenses with an array of formations and packages this season, and that's exactly what they did Sunday. Everyone was involved in the win.

Grade: A-

• Defense: The defense surprised the Packers with a dime formation that removed one of the best tacklers in the league, Patrick Willis, for long stretches. No matter. The 49ers still held Green Bay to 45 rushing yards. Grade: A-

• Special teams: Another year, another record for David Akers. Technically, the unit should get a deduction for allowing a 75-yard punt return. That mistake, however, is on the officials for missing a block in the back. Grade: A-

• Overall: Many players deserve to be mentioned, but the biggest stars may be on the coaching staff, which added effective wrinkles on both offense and defense. The 49ers had been scheming for this game since May, and it showed. Grade: A
