Sacramento State quarterback Garrett Safron and kicker Edgar Castaneda received Big Sky Conference Players of the Week honors, the league announced.
Safron was named the co-offensive Player of the Week after throwing for a career-high 312 yards and two touchdowns in the Hornets' 30-28 victory at Colorado on Saturday.
Castaneda was named co-special teams Player of the Week after making the decisive 28-yard field goal as time expired. He connected on three field goals and three extra points.

Hornets golfers place ninth in Washington
The Sac State men's golf team finished ninth in the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate in Pullman, Wash., the school reported. Ryan Williams led the Hornets by tying for 19th place.
