SUNDAY'S GAMES

Raiders at Miami Dolphins

Time: 10 a.m.

TV/radio: Ch. 13, 1140

Line: Raiders by 2 1/2

Records: Raiders 0-1, Dolphins 0-1

The skinny: For their home opener, the Dolphins will hand out free "Still Perfect" hats to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 1972 perfect season (17-0), torturing fans with the latest reminder that the franchise's good old days are long, long gone. Fans in Miami have some hope this weekend with the Raiders making the long trip on a short week. But the Raiders' defensive front will limit Dolphins running back Reggie Bush and harass quarterback Ryan Tannehill, and Raiders quarterback Carson Palmer might go for 300 yards against the Dolphins' pass defense.

Detroit Lions at 49ers

Time: 5:20 p.m.

TV/radio: Ch. 3, 680, 1320

Line: 49ers by 6 1/2

Records: 49ers 1-0, Lions 1-0

The skinny: The 49ers have beaten the Lions eight consecutive times, including last year, when coaches Jim Schwartz and Jim Harbaugh forgot to put on their big-boy pants and got into a handshake kerfuffle afterward. Expect the Jims to shake and make up. Also expect the 49ers to continue to dominate the series in this prime-time matchup.

Dallas Cowboys at Seattle Seahawks

Time: 1:05 p.m.

TV: FOX40

Line: Cowboys by 3

Records: Cowboys 1-0, Seahawks 0-1

The skinny: After that season-opening win over the New York Giants, the Cowboys will have had 11 days off. Has the emotional lift worn off? And will that be too much rest? Although the Seahawks tend to play appreciably better at home, look for the Cowboys' defense to beat Seattle's offensive line and live in the pocket of rookie quarterback Russell Wilson.

Tennessee Titans at San Diego Chargers

Time: 1:25 p.m.

TV/radio: Ch. 13, 1320

Line: Chargers by 6

Records: Titans 0-1, Chargers 1-0

The skinny: San Diego has won seven in a row over Tennessee, and this is a long trek for the Titans, but look for them to keep it close. Tennessee is a better team than it looked last week against the Patriots and Tom Brady. And the Chargers are one of those maddeningly inconsistent teams that can't quite be trusted from week to week.

MONDAY'S GAME

Denver Broncos at Atlanta Falcons

Time: 5:30 p.m.

TV/radio: ESPN, 1320

Line: Falcons by 3

Records: Broncos 1-0, Falcons 1-0

The skinny: Everyone has been breathlessly singing praises for the magical comeback of quarterback Peyton Manning, who looked sharp in his Broncos' debut last week. But guess what? While you weren't watching, Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan has turned into an elite quarterback. Or he seems to be making that leap, at least. It looks like a high-flying game between up-tempo attacks and a matchup fit for the Monday night stage. The Falcons have the edge because the game's in Atlanta, and home openers in prime time tend to magnify any advantage. Last week, Manning had that advantage. On Monday night, Ryan will.
