Is the Raiders' season in jeopardy already?

Leading Off: New era, new season, same pathetic Raiders

Word around the East Bay is that in celebration of their 0-2 start in the Year 1 A.D. (After Davis), the Raiders are planning to unveil a new helmet logo for Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Instead of the silver and black pirate wearing one eye patch, he'll now wear a second over the other eye.

The team already has become unwatchable.

Instead of showing signs of improvement with a new general manager, a new coach and a more modern approach, the Raiders seem to have regressed.

Sunday's 35-13 backhand by the horrid Miami Dolphins was an unexpected blow to the Raiders because it looked like one of Oakland's most winnable games on the 2012 docket.

The Dolphins were considered one of the NFL's worst teams entering the season. Miami has a rookie coach and quarterback who threw three interceptions in his first regular-season game.

It was a chance for the Raiders to earn their first victory and erase the bad taste from the Monday night debacle against San Diego.

But the Raiders couldn't shake young quarterback Ryan Tannehill, and Reggie Bush (172 yards) ran as if he were facing Fresno State.

With the Steelers next and then the Broncos, the Raiders are staring at 0-4. Last season's 8-8 record seems far away.

Where have you gone, Hue Jackson? A Raider Nation turns its lonely eyes to you.
