The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office has identified the woman found dead Sept. 14 in an overturned vehicle in Cool as 22-year-old Marissa Forster of Georgetown.
Sheriff's deputies responded just before noon that day to a report of a vehicle accident in the 2400 block of Highway 193 in Cool. They found a vehicle upside down 30 to 40 yards from the roadway. It appeared that the crash occurred some time before it was reported, but the time has not been determined, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.
Authorities said Forster was the only occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner's investigation determined that she died of massive and immediate head trauma.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
