A young and energetic orchestra
What: A Far Cry Chamber Orchestra continues its concert tour with a performance next Sunday at the Crest Theatre in Sacramento as part of the Sacramento Community Concert Association series. The Boston Globe describes the orchestra as "thrilling, intrepid … brilliant." The group is still young. In less than five years, the orchestra has positioned itself with a unique musical philosophy. Self-conducted and managed, the youthful musicians "play" by their own rules, even rotating leadership roles – onstage and off. A Far Cry is the Chamber Orchestra in Residence at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, and maintains an educational partnership with the New England Conservatory. This is the SCCA's 60th year of presenting concerts in the capital area.

GREAT WITH GLASS
See the work clearly at Roseville's Blue Line Gallery
What: The Blue Line Gallery in Roseville will present an unusual exhibit that looks at artists who work in glass. "Amorphous" celebrates 50 years of studio glass-making in America. To celebrate this milestone and recognize talented artists, Tony Natsoulas has curated a show that includes 18 glass artists working in a variety of techniques. The artists come from Sacramento, Chico, Woodland, the Bay Area – even Los Angeles.
