A young and energetic orchestra
What: A Far Cry Chamber Orchestra continues its concert tour with a performance next Sunday at the Crest Theatre in Sacramento as part of the Sacramento Community Concert Association series. The Boston Globe describes the orchestra as "thrilling, intrepid
brilliant." The group is still young. In less than five years, the orchestra has positioned itself with a unique musical philosophy. Self-conducted and managed, the youthful musicians "play" by their own rules, even rotating leadership roles onstage and off. A Far Cry is the Chamber Orchestra in Residence at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, and maintains an educational partnership with the New England Conservatory. This is the SCCA's 60th year of presenting concerts in the capital area.
When: Doors open at 2 p.m. next Sunday; concert starts at 3
Where: Crest Theatre, 1013 K St., Sacramento
Tickets: $25 at the door the day of the show. If you wish to reserve tickets in advance for the performance, call (916) 974-1357.
