Candidates for three seats on the Woodland Joint Unified School District board will be featured at an Oct. 4 forum sponsored by the League of Women Voters.

Two candidates are running in each of the districts, whose boundaries were redrawn in the latest redistricting.

District 3 candidates are Warren Berg, retired, and Cirenio Rodriguez, a retired professor. In District 4, the candidates are Elaine Lytle and Jennifer R. Archer-Cox.

In District 5, candidates are Rosario Ruiz-Dark, chief of finance for the Yolo County Sheriff's Department and incumbent school board member, and Sam Blanco III, director of the UC Davis Educational Talent Search Program.

Candidates will give statements on why they are seeking election and will cite their qualifications. League members then will ask each candidate three questions about educational issues. The last half of the forum will feature questions from the audience.

The event starts at 7 p.m. in the Woodland Community & Senior Center, 2001 East St., in Woodland.
