As the election approaches, Sacramento metro voters are almost evenly split between the two political parties -- roughly 40 percent are Democrats; 37 percent are Republicans -- but there are huge variations by neighborhood.

The city of Sacramento and Yolo County suburbs lean heavily Democratic; the suburbs east of the city lean heavily Republican.

This map shows, by census tract, voter registration breakdowns during the last general election for each of the region's neighborhoods. Use the search box to zoom to a particular address.
