The real steal: Select from $2 canned beers such as Modelo, Pabst Blue Ribbon and Miller High Life, as well as $3 well drinks, $4 glasses of wine and $10 pitchers of Batch 19 beer.
Appetizers are full-priced but reasonable. Bacon mac & cheese and sweet potato fries, both customer favorites, are $3.25. Grilled cheese sticks cost $4.95.
The vibe: Enter the Pour House and step back in time to the Prohibition era.
Reclaimed barn wood and rustic brick walls surround you, and dim amber lighting sets off the wall of alcohol. Bartenders wear period-appropriate clothing, including vests, suspenders and newsboy caps.
A flat-screen TV by the bar offers a rare modern touch. Skylights and windows let in enough light to distinguish day from night – an attribute 1920s speakeasies probably lacked. There's also a back bar and a back patio.
Happy hour comes to you at four oversize, black-leather booths. Each booth comes with two beer taps and a Jameson whiskey tap.
Signature drinks: For $10, you can split a pitcher of house-favorite Batch 19 beer. It is a Prohibition-style, robust lager. The recipe supposedly was created during the Prohibition era.
The true signature drink is not on the happy-hour menu. For $9, you can try the Whiskey Fig, which is made with 12-year-old Glenfiddich scotch, house-made fig jelly, simple syrup, fresh-squeezed lemon juice and Angostura bitters. It's served over a block of ice and with fresh lemon peel.
Something extra: The Pour House sits right next to the railroad tracks, and celebrates the passing of trains by offering $2 "train shots" of Jack Daniel's.
It also offers more than 100 beers and 150 whiskeys. And most everything that can be made in-house is, including homemade jams and the pickled vegetables used in drinks.
On Sundays after happy hour, it's "Bombs Away Sunday," with hard-to-find beers ranging from $6 to $9 in the large bottles. It lasts from 7 p.m. to last call.

The deals: Select from $2.25 domestic pints, $1.25 off premium pints and well drinks, and $1 off wine by the glass and bottles of beer. A tall boy – a 34- ounce mug of beer – is $2.25 off for both domestic and premium beers. Appetizers such as street tacos are $1.25.
