Norcal Noisefest
What: A three-day, all-ages festival celebrating experimental music or what, some may simply call, noise. Noisefest promotes power electronics, harsh noise, ambient, garage jazz, glitch and more. Thirty-eight bands, mostly from Northern California, will perform at three locations throughout the weekend.
When: 7 p.m.-midnight today; 3:30-11:30 p.m. Saturday and noon-4 p.m. Sunday
Where: Friday's shows are at Luna's Cafe, 1414 16th St.; Saturday's shows are at the Sol Collective, 2574 21st St.; and Sunday's shows are at Bows & Arrows, 1815 19th St., Sacramento.
Cost: $10 per day (includes earplugs), $40 weekend pass (includes CD, T-shirt, button, sticker and earplugs)

Sacramento Archives Crawl
What: Get a behind-the-scenes look at the hidden treasures and special collections of four archives in Sacramento. This year's theme is "Building Sacramento/Building Communities" so crawlers can expect to see materials tracing the region's growth. Participants can gather stamps for their passports as they walk to the California State Archives, California State Library, Center for Sacramento History and the Sacramento Room at the Central Library. You may start at any of the locations and go from there.
When: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

From Dark Depths to Bright Horizons
What: The Camellia Symphony, under the direction of Christian Baldini, left, will perform a concert that includes Mozart's Overture to "Don Giovanni," "Exsultate, Jubilate," with soprano Carrie Hennesey, and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4. The all-volunteer orchestra celebrates its 50th anniversary with a new music director and a new performing venue the Sacramento City College Performing Arts Center, which recently got a $13 million face-lift.

Sac World Fest
What: A musical and dance celebration showcasing Sacramento's ethnic and cultural diversity. Music and dance groups will perform at various venues throughout Old Sacramento. The dance groups include Halau O'Keikiali'i of Sacramento, the Colors of Tango, Bolivia Corazon de America and Sinag-tala Filipino Theater. Also part of the free festival will be a global village (featuring cooking demonstrations, cultural displays, hands-on art making), story-telling at the Eagle Theatre and a hip-hop dance-off.

U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West
What: A free two-hour concert by the U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West. This 47-member band, based at Travis Air Force Base near Fairfield, tours throughout the western United States giving more than 250 performances a year.
When: Doors open at 6 p.m., general seating; 7 p.m. concert
Where: Community Center Theater, 1301 L St., Sacramento
Cost: Free, but tickets must be picked up at the Sacramento Convention Center Box Office from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday. There is a limit of six tickets per person.
