Folsom Lake College will sponsor a non-partisan election forum for El Dorado County voters on Tuesday, Oct. 9 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the college's El Dorado Center, 6699 Campus Way, Placerville.
The event, free and open to the public, will feature panel discussions with representatives from the presidential campaigns of Barack Obama and Mitt Romney and California Assembly District No. 5 candidates Frank Bigelow and Rico Oller. The forum will also allow education funding experts to discuss the pros and cons of Propositions 30 and 38, two tax measures on the Nov. 6 ballot; and crime and prison panelists to talk about Propositions 34, 35 and 36, three measures related to crime.
The forum will be held in the center's community room, C-102. It is hosted by the center's political science students and the Student Activities Club.
Paula Lee of the League of Women Voters will serve as moderator, and audience members will be invited to submit questions to all speakers.
