Cool temperatures are expected to continue through the week.
An upper level low is forecast to bring clouds and below normal temperatures as it moves down the coast, according to the National Weather Service.
A slight chance of showers is predicted for Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday evening for the Sacramento Valley, the Sierra Nevada and the foothills, according to NWS forecasters.
The detailed, 7-day forecast for the Sacramento region from the NWS:
Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 75. Southwest wind around 7 mph.
Tonight: A 20 percent chance of showers after 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53. South southeast wind 7 to 9 mph.
Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 74. South southwest wind 7 to 9 mph.
Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 53. South wind around 8 mph.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 72. South southwest wind around 8 mph.
Thursday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 52.
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 74.
Friday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 55.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78.
Saturday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 54.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 80.
Sunday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56.
Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 82.
