Macy's in Sacramento's Arden Fair mall will be among 24 U.S. Macy's stores getting a Toys R Us Express department for the upcoming holiday shopping season.
Macy's and Toys R Us announced the agreement today.
The departments, which will operate on a leased basis, will average approximately 1,500 square feet. The companies are aiming to have the in-store toy departments open from Monday through Jan. 15.
The departments will offer various products, including those featured on the 2012 Toys R Us Holiday Hot Toy list.
Officials said the pop-up toy shop concept might be expanded in the future. The Macy's in Arden Fair is one of four California stores designated for this year's holiday season.
"By partnering with Toys R Us ... we can offer a comprehensive toy assortment and one-stop shopping in this largest gift-giving time of the year," said Jeff Gennette, Macy's chief merchandising officer.
