Prep football roundup: No. 1 Elk Grove blanks reeling Grant

The No. 15 Grant Pacers may have been fighting for their playoff lives, but top-ranked Elk Grove also had something big at stake Friday night in their Delta Valley Conference encounter in Del Paso Heights.

With Wadus Parker running for touchdowns of 16 and 27 yards, Robert Frazier adding 160 rushing yards and a touchdown and the defense bottling up the Pacers' offense, the Thundering Herd (7-0, 2-0) defeated the reeling Pacers 24-0 to extend their regular-season winning streak to 17 games.

Grant (2-5, 0-2) could miss the postseason for the first time in Mike Alberghini's 22-year tenure as head coach.

Elk Grove's win sets up a matchup of unbeatens next Friday against No. 2 Franklin at Elk Grove High School.

No. 2 Franklin 72, Davis 7 at Cosumnes Oaks – With the Wildcats (7-0, 2-0) rolling up 329 total yards in jumping to a 42-0 halftime lead, the Wildcats coasted past the Blue Devils (4-3, 1-1) in a Delta Valley Conference game.

No. 4 Burbank 69, Valley 0 at Burbank – Isaiah Williams rushed for three touchdowns, Calvin Green caught two touchdown passes, Benjamin Jones returned a kickoff 63 yards for a touchdown, and Jarad Hill returned a punt 49 yards for a score as the Titans (7-0, 4-0) beat the Vikings (1-6, 1-3) in a Metro Conference game.

No. 5 Placer 14, Bear River 7 in Auburn – First-quarter touchdown runs by Todd Valiere and Michael Robinson held up in what turned into a Pioneer Valley League defensive battle between the Hillmen (7-0, 2-0) and the Bruins (6-1, 1-1).

No. 7 Oak Ridge 63, Sheldon 7 at Sheldon – Josh Wellman rushed for four touchdowns to lead the Trojans (6-1, 1-1) over the Huskies (3-4, 0-2) in a Delta River League game.

No. 8 Pleasant Grove 35, No. 20 Ponderosa 7 in Shingle Springs – Deaundre Terrell completed 6 of 9 passes for 147 yards, and Isaiah Saunders rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown to lead the Eagles (5-2, 2-0) past the Bruins (5-2, 1-1) in a Delta Valley Conference contest.

No. 9 Del Campo 52, Oak- mont 27 in Fair Oaks – Josh Blumgold rushed for 168 yards and four touchdowns as the Cougars (5-2, 2-0) topped the Vikings (2-5, 0-2) in a Capital Valley Conference game.

No. 14 Inderkum 26, Woodland 7 in Woodland – C.J. Spencer ran for two touchdowns and threw for a touchdown, and Josh Montes ran for a 27-yard score as the Tigers (5-2, 1-1) defeated the Wolves (1-6, 0-2) in a Tri-County Conference game.

No. 16 Del Oro 24, Roseville 7 in Roseville – Brandon Monroe returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown and an interception 60 yards for another score to lead the Golden Eagles (3-4, 2-0) past the Tigers (1-6, 0-2) in a Sierra Foothill League game.

No. 19 Center 34, Colfax 14 in Colfax – D'Juan Bellaire rushed for 166 yards and two touchdowns, and Tyrel Anderson ran for 131 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Cougars (6-1, 2-0) past the Falcons (3-4, 0-2) in a Pioneer Valley League contest. Michael Wilson completed 33 of 48 passes for 362 yards and a touchdown, and Kyle Bryant caught a school-record 17 passes for 208 yards and a touchdown.

Bella Vista 31, Casa Roble 30 in Orangevale – Austin Harmer ran for three touchdowns, including the game winner with seconds to play, and completed a 23-yard scoring stroke to Gabe Ahrens to lift the Broncos (4-3, 1-1) over the Rams (1-6, 0-2) in a Capital Valley Conference contest.

River City 20, Liberty Ranch 17 in West Sacramento – David Vincent rushed for two touchdowns, and Tucker McAmoil completed a 37-yard scoring strike to Malik Dumontz to lead the Raiders (2-5, 2-1) past the Hawks (4-3, 2-1) in a Sierra Valley Conference game.

Capital Christian 55, Marysville 12 at Capital Christian – Justice Shelton-Mosley rushed for a touchdown, caught a touchdown pass and returned a kickoff 80 yards for a score as the Cougars (6-1, 2-0) defeated the Indians (1-6, 1-1) in a Golden Empire League contest.

Vista del Lago 68, Galt 13 at Folsom High – Matt Jimison threw six touchdown passes to lead the Eagles (7-1, 4-0) over the Warriors (0-7, 0-3) in a Sierra Valley Conference game.

Mesa Verde 40, West Campus 13 in Citrus Heights – Christian Garcia rushed for two touchdowns to lead the Mavericks (2-5, 1-1) past the Warriors (1-5, 0-2) in a Golden Empire League contest.

Monterey Trail 26, Laguna Creek 3 at Elk Grove High – C.J. Ramseur ran for two touchdowns to lead the Mustangs (5-2, 1-1) over the Cardinals (2-5, 0-2) in a Delta Valley Conference game.

El Camino 63, Cordova 0 at El Camino – Quenton Hagen had two interceptions, returning one for a 36-yard touchdown, as the Eagles (5-2, 1-1) defeated the Lancers (1-6, 0-2) in a Capital Valley Conference game.
