WHAT'S THE BUZZ?

Jesus Christ Superstar UK Rock Spectacular

What: If you're a fan of the rock musical – and of Andrew Lloyd Webber – here's an opportunity to experience his newly staged rock-opera sensation "Jesus Christ Superstar" in a whole different way – on the big screen. NCM Fathom Events, Omniverse Vision and the Broadway League are bringing "Jesus Christ Superstar UK Rock Spectacular" to movie theaters nationwide for two nights. This showing event features a big-time cast including actor and singer Ben Forster as Jesus, Tim Minchin as Judas Iscariot and Melanie Chisholm (a.k.a. Mel C from the Spice Girls) as Mary Magdalene.

The theatrical production originally opened in the West End in 1972 and has been updated to appeal to today's audiences with its classic musical numbers. The evening will begin with an exclusive historical retrospective on the show, including interviews with past and present cast members.

When: 7:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at these theaters: Stadium 14, Downtown Plaza, Greenback Lane 16 and Natomas Marketplace in Sacramento; Folsom 14 in Folsom; Laguna 16 in Elk Grove; Roseville 14 in Roseville, and Stadium 13 with IMAX in El Dorado Hills • 7:30 p.m. Nov. 1: Stadium 13 with IMAX in El Dorado Hills and Natomas Marketplace in Sacramento

Tickets: They are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.fathomevents.com.
