MATCHUP TO WATCH

Sebastian Janikowski vs. Arrowhead Stadium

Nobody would be surprised if the veteran Raiders kicker was the first on the team bus today. Janikowski has enjoyed great success at Arrowhead, where he has made 28 of 32 field-goal attempts. Ironically, he missed his first two attempts at Kansas City but kicked the game winner in 2000. His 59-yard attempt last Dec. 24 that bounced off the crossbar was his first miss at Arrowhead since 2003.

THREE KEYS TO GAME

• Taking care of the ball must be paramount for the Raiders, who have had success against Kansas City whenever they do. The Raiders have beaten the Chiefs three of the past four meetings, committing a total of four turnovers. In the one loss last season, the Raiders committed six turnovers, including three interceptions thrown by Carson Palmer in his Oakland debut.

• The Raiders' veteran defensive line needs to harass Brady Quinn, who is making his second consecutive start for the Chiefs, into making mistakes. He has only three victories in 13 career starts and has shown he can be forced into bad decisions when the pocket collapses.

• With the Chiefs having trouble with the passing game, the burden on offense falls upon running back Jamaal Charles. He has rushed for 591 yards and shown big-play ability, including a 91-yard touchdown run. The Raiders' defense will be able to play closer to the line of scrimmage because the Chiefs' passing game has displayed little to fear.
