Prize-winning Tucson reporter to join KCRA

Claire Doan, an award-winning TV reporter in Tucson, Ariz., will join Sacramento television station Channel 3 (KCRA) on Dec. 3.

Doan will move to Sacramento from Tucson station KGUN, Channel 9, an ABC affiliate.

She has won an Emmy for her general assignment reporting and an Edward R. Murrow Award for "best investigative report" for her coverage of Jared Lee Loughner, who shot and killed six people on Jan. 8, 2011, in Tucson.

Doan previously worked as a reporter and weekend producer in Salinas. She grew up in the Bay Area after her family emigrated from Vietnam when she was 1.

Doan graduated summa cum laude with a mass communications degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
