Rebecca Bleau and Nicholas Cravotta, operators of BlueMatter Games in Grass Valley, have been nominated in what's known as "the Academy Awards of the toy industry."
Bleau and Cravotta are among the nominees in the "Rising Star Designer" category for this year's Toy and Game Inventor of the Year, or TAGIE, awards.
Winners in the national competition will be announced Nov. 16 at the Field Museum in Chicago. The TAGIE gala is part of the annual Toy & Game Inventors Conference.
Bleau and Cravotta designed their first game now sold under the title "Acuity" by FatBrain Toys in 2005. They've since won multiple awards for their games.
