Which of these popular candies are your favorite to get on Halloween?

The Academy of General Dentistry has weighed in on the best and the worst of Halloween candies.
Worst:
• Gummy bear-type candies. These are a serious source of tooth decay because they get stuck in crevices between teeth.
• Sour candies, such as Sour Patch kids candy. They are highly acidic and can break down enamel.
• Sugary candies, such as candy corn. They contain high amounts of sugar, which can start tooth decay.
Best:
• Sugar-free lollipops. They stimulate saliva, which can prevent dry-mouth. A dry mouth allows plaque to build up.
• Sugar-free gum. This type of gum can prevent cavities by dislodging food particles. It also increases saliva, which works to neutralize acids and prevent tooth decay.
• Dark chocolate with its accompanying antioxidants can be good for the heart and may lower blood pressure, according to some studies.

• Don't flag other users' comments just because you don't agree with their point of view. Please only flag comments that violate these guidelines.
