'Celebrate Francie'
What: Bring a blanket, grab dinner from a food truck and dance to the music of Mumbo Gumbo at a fundraiser for longtime children's entertainer Francie Dillon. Dillon, who is nationally recognized and locally is known as "The Voice of Fairytale Town," is suffering from an undiagnosed neurological condition that threatens to end her career. The evening will feature entertainment for children and music by the Jazz Report.
When: 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Diego's Umbrella
What: Diego's Umbrella has been called San Francisco's ambassadors of gypsy rock. The group blends klezmer, flamenco and punk rock into a pop music party. They've played in venues from clubs to large festivals such as Outside Lands. The dance concert has limited theater seating and standing room is in front of the stage.
When: 8 p.m.

For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf'
What: The play, told as a choreopoem, focuses on the struggles and hardships of women as they find happiness in themselves. Students will perform the seven stories through dance and in poetic verse.
When: 8 p.m. today, Saturday and Nov. 9, 10, 11; 2 p.m. Sunday and Nov. 11; 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Where: CSUS Playwrights' Theatre, 6000 J St., Sacramento

B.B. King
What: The King of the Blues continues to thrill audiences with his live performances. The 87-year-old singer is known to be a tireless showman, performing from 200 to 300 shows a year in his younger days. King is credited with bringing the blues to mainstream audiences and influencing generations of musicians. In 1987, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
